The first of its kind in the country, the Institute primarily offers courses in Malouf and classical Tunisian instruments, as well as courses to make those instruments.

Traditional Tunisian Instruments

Tunisia’s musical legacy faces the threat of fading away, lacking proper preservation measures to safeguard its richness and authenticity for future generations. The Institute offers weekly classes in Oud, Rebab, violin and percussion (Tar, Nagharat, and Darbouka) with leading instructors in the field. Diplomas are awarded upon completion of the full curriculum for each instrument.

Malouf Theory Sessions

Held once a week, this mandatory course for all enrolled in instrument classes provides a solid foundation of theoretical knowledge. It is designed to enhance students’ playing capabilities by equipping them with a strong understanding of malouf musical theory.

Malouf Club

Open to all interested individuals, the Malouf Club offers weekly sessions focused on learning and rehearsing. Participants will master singing techniques and instrumental skills through the rich tradition of Malouf Nuba.
